MASK OBLIGATORY

Information regarding registration of vassels with Croatian vassel registers.

REMINDER

According to the guidelines of the EU legislation, all foreign ships (whose owner are not Croatian residents) that were in Croatia on July 1st 2013 in a bonded warehouse (in a marina) are according to the customs legislation in a temporary import (according to the Istanbul convention – annex C).
It is no longer possible for EU residents to remain in this status; all the begun customs procedures fo...r vessels that were temporarily imported or in a bonded warehouse (marina) on the day of Croatia's accession to the EU must be settled or ended. This will be done through the customs procedure at the customs authority, mostly by an import customs clearance - putting the vessel into free circulation.
The customs procedures must be finished by the deadline of the period of temporary importation. The deadline is 18 months from the beginning of the temporary importation. This usually means after the registration of the ship at the Croatian Customs authority upon stipulation of the berthing contract with the marina.
In other words, for every ship that was registered in a marina at the time of the accession to EU on 1st July 2013, a customs declaration must be submitted, regardless if ultimately a payment has to be made or not, if the vessel will be exempt from taxation or not.
